Frequently Asked Questions

How will LifeLinks CLASS use my donation?

Donations to LifeLinks CLASS supplement our operating budget and provide opportunities for robust community inclusion activities, job and soft skills training, and other critical needs for more than 400 individuals we serve each day. If you would like your gift to support something specific, just let us know!

If LifeLinks CLASS is publicly funded, why do you need my donation?

Your donations bridge the gap between public funding and operating expenses. Individuals who come to LifeLinks CLASS are funded through MassHealth, the Department of Developmental Services and other state agencies. Their funding covers only basic programming and direct supports under our roof. Your donations help LifeLinks CLASS expand programs and services and individuals’ opportunities for personal growth and active, meaningful engagement in their communities.

What is the administrative or overhead percentage at LifeLinks CLASS?

Costs associated with providing programs and services to LifeLinks CLASS individuals include accounting, insurance, payroll, fundraising, marketing, facilities, maintenance, and more. We are happy to report that only 14 cents of every dollar is allocated to overhead.

Is my donation to LifeLinks CLASS tax deductible?

Your tax deductions depend on your personal tax situation. LifeLinks CLASS is a Section 501(c)3 nonprofit and your gift may qualify as a charitable donation for federal income tax purposes. Please consult with your tax advisor or the IRS.

My company offers matching gifts to a charity I select. How do I arrange for my donation to go to LifeLinks CLASS?

Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations like LifeLinks CLASS. Some even provide matching funds to support employee volunteer hours. Most of these programs match contributions, dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift. Please check to see if your company offers a matching gift program. If your employer requires an Employer Identification Number (EIN) (i.e. Federal Tax Identification Number), please use 04-2621546.
